- IFUGAO Rice Terraces Trekking 2009-2010
- The perfect land for trekking with incomparable scenery.
Old head hunter tribe territory, it is also the site of the extensive Rice Terraces in Banaue and the local area. Claimed to be the eighth wonder of the world. Come into an out-of-age trekking.

ITINERARY (5 Days/4 Nights, From MANILA to MANILA)

Day 1:
-
MANILA / BANAUE - Departure from Manila to Banaue by private air-conditioned car with driver (10 hrs. trip) crossing the agricultural plains of Central Luzon, through the Sierra Madre and its arid mountains. Arrive in Banaue in the afternoon and check in at the Fairview Inn. Visit the handicraft market, if time permits. Dinner and overnight Fairview Inn.

Day 2:

BANAUE / CAMBULO - Breakfast at the Pension. Jeepney to the starting point of the trek: Commence hiking to Cambulo (4 hours split into 1hour uphill, 2h flat, and 1h descent). Picnic lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in the village, sharing the life of the Ifugaos.

Day 3:

CAMBULO / BATAD - Trek to Batad and its amphitheater styled terraces, which are among the most beautiful in the area (2h30 hike split into 1h30 short uphill/downhill and 1h descent). Picnic lunch and swim at Batad waterfalls (1h down, 1h back up). Back to the village for a peaceful dinner and overnight.

BATAD / BANGA-AN / BANAUE - Breakfast in the village. Trek from Batad to Banga-an, by the "mountain crest trail" (3h up and down). Lunch in a restaurant in Banga-an overlooking the rice terraces. After visiting the village, jeepney back to Banaue. Dinner and overnight at Fairview Inn.

BANAUE / MANILA - Breakfast at the Pension. Back to Manila by private air conditioned car with driver (10 hrs. trip). Arrival in Manila in the afternoon.

The Price includes:
- All private transportation mentioned as follows:
• MANILA/BANAUE/MANILA: air-conditioned car or minivan with English speaking driver/coordinator.
• BANAUE/KINAKIN and BANGA-AN/BANAUE: private jeepney.
- Fullboard accommodation at FAIRVIEW INN, Banaue (simple local pension house with family atmosphere) and local guesthouses in the villages (very simple comfort) in CAMBULO and BATAD.
- The assistance of our own driver/coordinator from Manila to Manila, an Ifugao guide and a local team, all English-speaking.
The price does not include: Meals during transportation between Manila and Banaue (and back), drinks, personal expenses.

OPTIONS, SUPPLEMENTS AND DISCOUNTS:
- 1/ Accommodation in Banaue is at Fairview Inn, a friendly pension house, with family ambiance, but very basic. You can opt for more comfort with the Banaue Hotel which requires a Supplement for the 2 nights.
2/ Porters: During trekking, each guest carries his own bag. For those who prefer to hire a porter for their personal belongings a Supplement will be required.
3/ Long Trekkings: We have designed a good number of trekking itineraries in the Ifugao region, up to 10 hiking days for some. The perfect long trekking itinerary is still our 6 days of unforgettable hiking through: Banaue-Batad-Patpat-Talboc-Patyay-Cambulo-Banaue, or even 7 days culminating with Mt Amuyao climb (2800m).
In the same scheme as the above itinerary, for 6-days trekking, making it a total of 8 days Manila back to Manila (by private vehicle). Prices from $515 USD pp BASED ON DOUBLE ROOM.

Prices are valid from 1st October 2009 to 31st March 2010.
Season: Dry season extends from November to June. Best months from January to May. Temp: 20 to 30ºC. The period from July to October is rainy.
Physical Condition: Physical fitness required. Some passages might be difficult for those subject to vertigo.
Carry in your luggage: Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), hiking shoes, light waterproof backpack, raincoat, a sweater for the night (evenings may be chilly), bathing suit, water bottle, flashlight.
